Dewey's Read-a-Thon: Hour 1 Meme

Where are you reading from today? I'm in Texas. I'm starting out the morning at my home in Sanger, but will be going down to Grapevine in a little while to visit with the newest member of our family, baby Victoria who was born on 8 April.

3 facts about me * I am an Information Technology Specialist, working with large mainframe servers.
* I am a grandmother, with two grandchildren born in 2010: Aiden at the end of January and Victoria just this week.
* I own a Kindle and a Sony reader, yet 80% of the books I read are still paper books.

How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? I didn't create a separate TBR stack for the Read-a-Thon. I have 32 books in my owed TBR stack; books that I've promised to various members of BookObsessed. And, that's a very few of the 700 or so TBRs in my family room.

Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)? Nope. My only goal is to have as much fun this time as I did last October.

If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, Any advice for people doing this for the first time? This is my second round of the Read-a-Thon. I will be using a template to facilitate easier posting of status every couple of hours.

  1. Good Morning! I'm taking your advice of creating the template and using that for faster blog posting as well, great idea! I'll check back in on ya later!

  4. You are way ahead of me....I've managed to finish one book (okay, it was the children's picture book, Madeline!) and a few chapters in the book about eating and food, M.F.K. Fisher's Serve It Forth!
