This week, I purchased a the Kindle edition of The Dante Connection by Estelle Ryan using Amazon Prime promotional credit. (Amazon will give Prime members $1 credit toward books—paper or electronic—if they select the slower shipping options on their merchandise orders.) I had just finished reading The Gauguin Connection and enjoyed it VERY much, so when this book dropped to a discounted price of $0.99, I grabbed it. I also remembered to choose which of the four Amazon First freebies for October I wanted more than the others. Yeah, there are usually several of the “firsts” which appeal to me and my Prime subscription only entitles me to one freebie. I selected The Fire Seekers by Richard Farr, first book in his Babel Trilogy series.
An online reading friend sent me two books from my wishlist. Lemonitsa sent me Kindle editions of Shades of Earth by Beth Revis and Kris Longknife: Intrepid by Mike Shepherd. Both are science fiction novels, but from very different series.
The final new book this week is The Handsome Man's De Luxe Cafe , latest in Alexander McCall Smith's No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series. I read it in a hurry, finishing it yesterday.
How about you? Did you get any new books this week? You're invited to join the fun at Stacking the Shelves. According to the reviewers at Tynga's Reviews who host the meme:
Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
