A new month starts. Time to update my challenges.
12x12 in April was sponsored by Sheila at BookJourney. My personal goal was to read 12 novels and I ended the month 'way ahead of that goal, reading a grand total of 17 novels. It was obvious that I'd exceed my goal when I posted the 12 books I had read. The other five books were:
- The Ghost and the Haunted Mansion by Alice Kimberly
- Gilgamesh by Joan London
- Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart
- Baffled in Boston by Gary Provost
- A Rogue of My Own by Johanna Lindsey
May's challenge will be hosted by the ladies at Page Turners. I don't see a sign-up post yet, but I'll update the link here when they've posted it. I am going to set a much more conservative goal this month. I plan to read 10 novels, one of which will be by Anthony Trollope. That will move me along on my Trollope challenge to read at least two of his novels in 2010. Another novel which will be in my 12x12 challenge this month is The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, first in his massive Wheel of Time saga. I hope to read one book each month (or so) and eventually catch up just as Brian Sanderson publishes the last book in the series.
I'm going to step up to one more challenge: Bart's Twenty-ten Challenge. This challenge looks like so much fun and I'm glad that even though I didn't know about it at the first of the year, I can still join and have fun along with the others who have accepted the challenge.
The rules are fairly simple. I'm posting a summary of the rules, but be sure to take a look at the sign-up post at Bart's Bookshelf for all the details.
