SYNC returns in Summer 2015

It's almost time for the SYNC summer freebies. Just one month until the downloads begin.

Sponsored by AudioFile Magazine, in 2015 SYNC is partnered with sixteen different producers of audiobooks such as Tantor Audio, Listening Library, and Recorded Books. For fourteen weeks, starting on the 7th of May, you can download two titles a week. That's 28 free audiobooks—enough to keep me listening for an entire year.

This year's titles have been posted at www.audiobooksync.com. It looks like an interesting line-up. One thing I particularly like is that SYNC audiobooks come in the MP3 format. You have to use the Overdrive application to download the audiobooks, but once they are stored on your computer, you can copy them anywhere. I use iTunes to put them onto my iPhone so I can listen on the go.

One warning, though...if you aren't careful, you'll wind up spending some serious dollars on audiobooks. Yes, even after getting 26 free books in summer 2014, I still bought a number of additional audioboooks. That's because I got hooked on a series when I listened to the free copy of the first book in a series.

SYNC is a free summer audiobook program for young adults. Starting again May 7th 2015, SYNC will give away two complete audiobook downloads a week - a current young adult title along with a thematically paired classic or required summer reading title. Sign up for email or text alerts and be first to know when new titles are available to download at www.audiobooksync.com.
