Month in Review: July 2015

In July, I completed 16 books which contained a total of 4945 pages. That took me to a year-so-far total of 113 books and 32,744 pages. With a yearly goal of 200 books and 50,000 pages, I'm still 3 books behind schedule, though I'm 3500 pages ahead.

Now some statistics. Of the 16 books which I read, 12 were electronic books, while only two were conventionally printed books and the remaining two were audio books. I read five fantasy novels, 1 of which was directed to a YA audience and one for Middle Grade readers. There were 2 mainstream novels, five mysteries, two paranormal, and four science fiction books. Two of the SF books were aimed at young adults. Three of the sixteen books were advance reader copies, two from NetGalley and one directly from the author.

Books I read:

2015 Challenge Update:

In progress toward challenges, I've now read 46 library toward my goal of 50 books from the library. I expect to complete the Snagged @ the Library and I Love Library Books challenges by the end of August.

I've written ten reviews for the 42 Science Fiction Challenge. I have read a couple more SF books and even more importantly, I've watched several movies. I just need to get busy and produce some reviews.

Progress toward all the reading challenges I have taken on this year is being recorded on my 2015 Challenges page.

  1. You have some challenging goals made for the year! Hmm I see a lot of In Death books this month. I too am reading my way through this series. But when I get one in a month I think I am doing well. Just listened to Survivor in Death which was wonderful. You'll be catching up very soon to the 2015 editions. The Jennifer Chiaverini books are ones I want to read through too. Read the first one so far. All the best for August.

    1. When you pick up an omnibus at the library, there's a lot of pressure to read all them before the due date! That's what happened to me with the In Death books. I think I'll spotlight the series in 2016 as a "must complete" target.

I just adore the Elm Creek Quilts books. I do have a goal of completing all of them by the end of the year.
